The future of high-impact giving

Looking Ahead

▲ Charlotte Monico, CEO & Founders Pledge member

I’m proud – and perhaps a little lucky – to be both a member of the Founders Pledge community as well as CEO. At the very moment in early 2025 when the US government wouldn’t and business couldn’t step in, I had a front-row seat as our members, our donors and others in the effective giving ecosystem stepped up to make a crucial, lifesaving difference. With the shuttering of USAID, our Rapid Response Fund saved lives, and it was truly energizing to witness first-hand the power of people taking action to change the world for the better.

At the same time, we didn’t lose sight of other priorities, including funding organizations working to limit existential threats (including AI safety), to protect our collective security (including Russian, US and Chinese Track II diplomacy), and to fight against climate damage.

Our track record makes me optimistic about what comes next, even as the landscape grows more complex. We know that funding environments shift, political priorities change, and windows for meaningful action open and close quickly. If 2025 taught us anything, it’s that readiness matters as much as intention. We do the legwork—research, vetting, financial compliances—so that when you’re ready to give, your capital actually does what you want it to: immense good.

The next decade will no doubt be as unpredictable as the last. Our community’s commitment to changing the trajectory of disease, climate change and catastrophic risk will remain steadfast.
