Events to inspire and connect
Our dynamic events encourage collaboration, conversation and inspiration among our community throughout the year. In 2025, our events continued to expand across Europe and the US, deepening our conversations on climate, AI, global development and catastrophic risks, as well as the unique founder journey.
Bi-Annual Member Retreats
Our two annual flagship annual retreats provide immersive experiences and the space for our members to engage deeply. In January, we held our winter retreat in stunning Les Arc in the French Alps, and we held our summer retreat on the beautiful Giglio Island in Italy.
Both retreats attracted over 30 members and their partners who together explored how to ‘meet the moment’ amidst global instability. Speakers included Rory Stewart, Rutger Bregman, Caitlin Tulloch and Jason Rezaian, and discussions focussed on state failure, resilience and high-impact interventions across philanthropy and entrepreneurship.

Intimate dinners with leading global thinkers
We also hosted a series of intimate gatherings, bringing members together for candid conversations with leading global thinkers. These included dinners with David Miliband (President of the International Rescue Committee and former UK Secretary of State) in London, Tom Steyer (American entrepreneur and climate philanthropist) in San Francisco, and Atul Gawande (writer, public health researcher, and former U.S.AID Assistant Administrator for Global Health) in New York.
Members also joined a private dinner hosted at Jan Beckers’ home in Berlin (Founder of Bit Capital and IONIQ), exploring the governance and safety of advanced AI systems and the role philanthropy can play in shaping their future.

What our members say:

“Founders Pledge has proven to be world-class in my experience in terms of creating community, programming and relevant services to support the overall pledge.”
Danny Alexander
Co-Founder, Who Gives A Crap

“Before I joined Founders Pledge I didn’t have time to think about how to effectively give. Coming to [Founders Pledge] events has helped me create that space and understand more about what effective giving means, and having a support network that can help me make philanthropic decisions has been invaluable. Founders Pledge events really reinforce my belief in making the pledge, being connected to a community of like-minded people that want to do impactful work in a very effective way. I would 100% recommend it to anyone.”
